Hello everyone,

Just wanted to stop in and say hello, I have been a bad blogger lately! The last couple of weeks were kinda hectic. I was sick for several days and let me just say my life is too busy to get sick. Well I am back to normal now and back to my crafty self. This is the card I made for the Design Dollies color challenge for this week. The reveal was today and the colors are brown, purple and white. Very fun! I also made a layout using these colors but you will have to wait till the reveal on Thursday to see that one cause I used the sketch for this week.

I hope you will come play with us at Design Dollies. The color challenge is already up and tomorrow the new elements challenge will be revealed and Thursday the new sketch will be up, which is fabulous by the way!! :)

Hello to all,

First off, I want to say HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!! Today is the last day of the Creatively Green Eco-Friendly Valentines Blog Hop. We have an assortment of things going today, click HERE for a complete list of challenges and events.

Today I am hosting a Valentines Day color challenge. The challenge is to create a Valentines Day project using colors other than the typical red, pink and white. Now you may use those colors sparingly, but I dont want red, pink, and white to be the prominent colors of your project.

Here is my example. I used our exclusive Creatively Green cardstock (the purple and red). The red cardstock I embossed as well. Used some recollection embellishments, A K & Co. journaling spot, Bazzill border strips, Making Memories sticker letters, and American Crafts Thickers, a black Sharpie pen.

I also created a card for all you card makers out there. I got this idea with the stamped hearts from Lea Lawson. Its really cute though and works great for any sentiment really. You could say this card is eco-friendly, I used all scraps and I didnt even use any patterned paper. All you need is some card, stamps, ink, and some bling. The heart stamp is a Studio G stamp I got at Michaels for a dollar and the Happy heart Day stamp I got at Michaels for a dollar too!! Gotta LOVE that!

Creatively Green Eco-Friendly Valentines Day Blog Hop

Welcome to Day one of the CREATIVELY GREEN ECO-FRIENDLY BLOG HOP!! The hop is from today Thursday Feb. 11th to Sunday Feb 14th. I am sorry I didnt get this post earlier today, last night I wasnt feeling well and you how things go. Anyway I am here now and thats all that matter.

We have several challenges and events going on today for you to participate in. Everyday there will be something new. Check out the Creatively Green Blog for all the deets as well as a list of all the challenges and prizes. We also are doing a scavenger hunt and bingo game going on in the forum. My challenge for today is a Valentines Day Glitter/bling project. This can be a layout, card or any other project as long as it has a Vday theme and has some glitter and/or on it. We would love for it to be eco-friendly in some way or another, since that is what we are all about here at Creatively Green.

For my project I repurposed and alter a mini paint can. I bought some prima flowers a couple of years ago and this is what they were packaged in....so cute right. I altered this can to put some candy in it and give it as a little vday gift. It turned out awesome. After I put all the paper on it I used some mod podge too seal it and help it last longer without messing up.

To participate in this challenge, make your project, post it to your blog or somewhere that we can see a picture of it and leave a comment on the Creatively Green blog with a link to your project. The winner of this challenge will receive a package of our exclusively made Clay Artz. You will not find these anywhere else.

Here is the finished project. The bling is the gems around the tin and the glitter is on the lid. There is detail shot of it below.

Design Dollie Sketch and an V-day Eco-friendly Blog Hop

Back again.... I think this is a record number of posts in 2 days from me...:)

The other I was on my way to work and my boss called me and told me I had the day off, she said she would be in court all day and didnt have much for me to do....woohoo....so I got my scrap on.

Most of you all know that I am a Design Dollie. Well I didnt get a chance to play with Kristy's awesome sketch until yesterday. As soon as I saw the sketch I knew I wanted to use it but I wasnt sure when I would get the chance.

Well the pictures are of my son playing on the piano with my husband, Linton. He was only 8 months old in these pics and he is 4 now....*tear... My son, Braden absolutely loves music, any and all kinds, he loves to sing and play on the piano, drum and the guitar. When he was a baby he would sit in the hubbys lap while he played the piano and sing to him. I hope he always has this love for music, and the kid can carry a tune!!

Anywho on to the deets of my layout. I got all the paper at Hobby Lobby. The Piano Paper is actually textured. The black is fuzzy. Very Cool I say! The glittery letter stickers are Making Memories. I have had them for at least a year or two...I loved how well they seemed to work with the gold. My little round journaling spot and the flower are K & Co. The cute little music note is from Creatively Green and it is made of clay. It actually was covered in silver glitter but I found some glittered that matched the color of my title in my stash. It was almost a perfect match too, I was soooo excited.

Hope this layout doesn t seem to plain, its simple and thats...well.... my style.

All i gotta say is "jazz hands" ... :)

How cute is that stamp...I got it at Michaels for $1... yep, had them in the dollar bin. I just love dollar bins and not just at michaels, anywhere really...target too!

I bought these stickles and I thought that they would dry clear and just make it look glittery, I was wrong... but I love the fact that it actually dries white...who knew. I dont remember what color it is.

My very first handmade embellishments!!

Happy Monday,

Well it was for me, my boss told me not to come in today because she was gonna be gone all day!! How awesome is that??

So I have been getting my scrap on today and made these lil cuties. Whatcha think? It was my first try at some handmade embellishments and I think I will be making more of these.

Black, Red and Kraft, the RUNT and Sketchy Thursdays!

Just wanted to tell you all about the new color challenge up at Design Dollies. If you cant tell it is black red and Kraft! Come play along with us, you have till Sunday night to load up your projects on Mr. Linky.

For this layout I used the current Sketchy Thursdays Sketch. When I saw it this week I knew I was going to have to use it. It was perfect for these pictures I wanted to use.

As most of you may know my boxer dog, Roxie had her first litter of puppies on Jan. 9th. It had definitely been a ride alright as this was the first time I have ever dealt with or been around newborn puppies. Roxie had 6 puppies, 3 boys and 3 girls. She had the 3 girls first and then the 3 boys. We are pretty sure they are boxadors...for those of you who dont know , that is boxer/labrador mix. These pictures are of the first born who is also the runt. What she doesnt have in size she makes up in attitude. She's a fiesty little booger. She was 2 weeks old in these pics.

Pink and Black

Hey hey,

Just wanted to share my latest cards. After well...forever now, I finally got a cuttlebug! I really only wanted it for embossing, now that I have really gotten into cards. Dont worry I still scrapbook too. I usually do a layout then 1 or 2 cards and then another layout. I really like to do it all. Now if I could just remember to mail the cards when I make them for people...haha. Anywho.

This first one here is for the Clean & Simple stamping sketch and for the current Pink Elephant Challenge. It is Polka Dots, Pink and a bow. So I got a Double whammy outta this one. Dont you just love those pearl hearts(the big and little one). I got them at Michaels for only $1 for the pack and it had, red, white and pink ones in it.

This second one here I used my cuttlebug to emboss the hearts on the pink cardstock. Then used some bling, ribbon and another one of those pearl hearts but a white one this time.

New Elements & Challenge @ Design Dollies!!

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to put up a quick post to let you know there is a new elements and sketch challenge over at Design Dollies!

Its a fun one too! You know that song from Sound of Music... "A Few of My Favorite Things"....well the challenge is to incorporate at least 3 items from the song in your layout/card. For mine I used a picture of my dog, used a pun on the word "bee" in my title and used the word sad in my title too. Also my button is "tied up in string."

Make sure you check out the new sketch too! Here is a card I made using the sketch. I just did it and didnt get it in before it was due. Not my favorite card, but it will do. I have the hardest time making cards for guys.

Sketchy Goodness and Kaleidoscopes!

Hey yall,

I just wanted to pop in and tell you about a couple of things. As part of my design team duties for Creatively Green I had to make two projects using a computer program that was so graciously given to us. The program is called Kaleioscope Kreations and you can make your pictures look like you are looking through a kaleidoscope. I just did a whole blogpost about it HERE. So go check it out. For a sneak peek, here is one of my projects.

The next layout I have to share with you is one that I created using Kristy's fabulous sketch over at Design Dollies. I feel sooo incredibly lucky to be apart of the design team, they are a bunch of wonderfully awesome chicks!!

Scrappy and Personal Goals for 2010

Hi everyone,

I know it has been soooo long since I have posted but I have been enjoying the holidays and enjoying the company I have had for about 2 weeks now (my 80 yr old grandmother)...but she leaves in the morning.

I have been thinking about what goals I would like to achieve in 2010. I dont make resolutions or call them that...thats a sure way for them not to get done. LOL! My personal goals are also not so straightforward like lose 15 lbs. Well no matter what you want to call them, here they are for 2010.
1. Graduate with my Bachelors degree in Legal Assistant Studies. (as of now, it should be in Dec 2010, if I can stay on track and do well in all my classes.)
2. Exceed and do well in my new job! I started working as a paralegal in the middle of November, I absolutely love it! It is what I am going to school for, but as with all new things it is a learning process. This is a new chapter in my life and one that I am so excited to see where it takes me. I have been a stay-at-home- mom for the past years and full time student for the past 3 years and this is what I have worked so hard for.
3. Make better use of my time. I am terrible for getting into this lazy mood when I am at home and just veg on the couch instead of other things that should be done.
4. Spend more "quality" time with my family. Sometimes the time we have, we take for granted and dont use it wisely.

Now as for scrappy goals... I have never made any scrappy goals before, this is my first year. So we will see how it goes.
1. Make 100 layouts. I know this may seem low but I dont want to overshoot. With now working and still going to school full time that is two layouts a week and I think that will be all I can do.
2. Make 100 cards. 50 any occasion and 50 christmas cards.
3. Finish my sons baby album.

Okay well those are my goals for the year. Nothing I cant handle! Hopefully I can accomplish them! Heres to a wonderful new year! HAPPY 2010!!

A White Christmas!!

Well hello to all my blog stalkers...hehe

Today I have a couple of blingy cards to show you. The first one I entered in the Design Dollies color challenge for this week which was ALL WHITE!! I used some white glitter cardstock and white metallic carstock. The blingin' snowflake is the paperstudio. The sentiment is a rub-on from Making Memories. The picture doesnt do it justice but they are very "blingy"... This next one I used the same cardstocks as the first one. I used a Clay Artz reindeer from the Creatively Green Store (so cute!!) and I added some AC ribbon and the sentiment is another rub-on from MM. I thought the reindeer was the PERFECT touch to this one! It is my fav.!

Simply Scrapping

Just wanted to show you my take on this week's Simply Scrapping sketch. Every Wednesday there is a new card or layout sketch with a twist. This week I used the card sketch and made this card for Thanksgiving. The twist is everything in 3's. You still have time to come and join us!

Here are some of the details. This card is a big one, its a 5x7. The word "give" is corkboard letters by Making Memories...love those! and the blue letters are by pink paislee. The pp is the autumn collection from Recollections, and the pearls are by the Paper Studio.

Hello,

I have a layout to share with you today. I used a sketch from Simply Scrappin 1st Nov sketch and Sketchy Thursdays 10-29 sketch. You wonder how I can use two sketches for one layout? Well to be honest they were almost exactly alike. My layout fit for both. Bonus! Simply Scrapping's sketch had a twist, it was to use one B&W photo and 2 colored photos.

The journaling says: I love that you are so photogenic with that beautiful smile of yours. It brightens my day every time I see it. Never stop smiling! October 2009

The pp is Sassafras, the tiny font is Making Memories and the word smile and the green ribbon is amercian crafts thickers. I also used a Martha Stewart butterfly punch and a recollections blue glitter brad.

Well the editors of that magazine have now started Ella Publishing Co. The e-zine is pretty new, but they chose one of my layouts as one of the Editor's picks.

Spelling Homework

Hey!!!

Well I finally get to share one of the layouts I did last weekend. I actually did 2, one I can finally show you today and the other one I cant show you yet. This layout is called spelling homework. This is a picture of my daughter doing her homework.

I made the DT for Simply Scrapping and this was my first DT assignment. This is for the Simply Scrapping weekly sketch challenge. This is the 3rd challenge for October. There is always a sketch and a twist for the sketch. This weeks twist was using rolled paper.

I made an embellishment out of rolled paper. I just wrapped the paper around a pencil and kinda wrapped it together with embroidery thread.

Scrap That Crop-toberfest 23-25

I know its been a while since my last post...okay a long while but I just want to let you all know about this AWESOME group called Scrap That! They are having an online crop this weekend, Crop-toberfest, It started today (Friday) at 3pm and goes till Sunday, but you get till Tuesday to do all the challenges. Sweet Trip To The Candy Shop!!!!

Hey Everyone,

I just wanted to let you all in on an exciting, new, and exclusive product that Creatively Green Scrapbook Store will be offering. Here's the deets!

Killed 4 birds with ONE stone!!!

Hey hey,

I told you I would be back today with another layout and here I am. I am thinking after today, I will be busy studying for mid-terms so I might not have time to scrap much this coming week till at least Friday. :(

All right...well here it is. The latest and the greatest...haha. I was able to incorporate 4 different challenges in this one layout. For the design, I used this weeks Sketchy Thursday sketch, which I totally loved. Its so simple but that is so me! I also used the current Pink Ninjas prompt which is #17 Addictions. This also counts for the Scrapfit Workout #4 which was use a photo with no peeps and some Cosmo Cricket (my pp is Cosmo). AND, last but not least I did the current Tuesday Technique Challenge over at MAF which was to use paint. I used red paint and outlined/edged my photo and around the outside of the layout.

I feel quite accomplished doing all these challenges in one layout. I combine sometimes but most of the time its like 2 at most. Anyway, about the layout, my addiction is Mountain Dew. Since I dont drink coffee, I consider it to be my coffee, and I can literally feel withdraws from the caffeine if I dont have it and feel tired all day. Sad really, but I have been drinking this since high school. I would buy one from the vending machines EVERY morning before class. So there you have it.

Here are some close ups.... dont you just love that little fabric brad with the heart on it. I got it from Hobby Lobby, and it was my last one:(

Its early in the Mornin'....

Hey hey,

Well it is 3:13 in the morning....I havent gone to bed yet. I have been a scrappin and had to post before I went nighty-night. I killed 3 birds with this stone...haha. Sort of.

Well for the sketch I used one of Diana's old Sketchy Thursday sketches that I hadnt done yet. So if that counts then yes, it is 3 birds. lol. Here sketches are always awesome, and in fact I am in the middle of working on the current challenge....just not done yet, but come back tomorrow to see it. This was also for the Monday Funday challenge over at MAF. For that challenge you had use texting lingo in your layout, hence the title (LOL!). I thought it was perfect for this pic, I have had on my desk for months now. It was a really fun challenge, and still have till tomorrow nightif you want to pla along. Last but not least this was also for the pile it on challenge this week. Use punches. I used 2. A butterfly punch and a border punch. After seeing some of Mrs. Diana's pages using this notebook edge looking punch, I just had to have it and Hobby Lobby had their punches %40 off last week, *actually the girl gave me %50 off but shhhh, we wont tell anyone. Hey I am not gonna complain. Anyway it is soo cute and I love this punch.
Here is a baby card I made using some K & Company paper. The stamp is one of those lil' snag em' stamps...so cute right? Nothing too spectacular about this one.

Sketchy Thursdays and a Cardstock only Challenge

Hello,
I just wanted to check in and show you what I am working on. This baby card here was made using the Sketchy Thursday sketch. The word "baby" is a Heidi Swapp stamp, and the giraffe is a snag 'em stamp by imaginisce. Love those little things, they carry them at our Michael's now for $1.49, so I snagged 3 different ones. Anyway, I stamped it on some Sassafras paper and then cut them out. I used black ink to ink up the edges of my cardstock and wha-la. Simple card for a baby and since its Orange you could really use it for a boy or girl, all though me personally it looks more on the boyish side to me.
This next project here is a layout I did for my MIL wedding album I am making for her. I used a challenge from Creatively Green. The challenge was to create a layout using only cardstock. You could use other embellies but 80% had to be cardstock so that meant NO pp and let me tell you, it was harder than it seemed. The white scallopped borders I did with a border punch. I used some cream offray ribbon and the crystal flourish is from Prima. This layout is very simple but I think it is elegant too and really puts the focus on the pics which is exactly what I wanted to do.

New layouts using Sassafrass!

Hello everyone,

I think this has to be a record for me, three posts in one day!! Tonight I worked on some layouts for my daughters baby book, and used some scrump-diddly-umpious Sassafrass papers.

This first layout "First Cereal" was done using this weeks Sketchy Thursday Sketch by Mrs. Diana. I love the simplicity of this sketch, well mainly because that is totally my style. Make sure you check out the new home for Sketchy Thursdays because they are giving away a TON of awesome prizes this week!!

All papers are Sassafrass. I have been hoarding them for a while now, just waiting for the perfect pictures to go with them. I just decided to go ahead and use them cause if I didnt I would prob have them forever. lol! These pictures are of my daughter's first time eating cereal as a baby in Dec 2002. She was 3 months old.

Here is a close-up. Sorry for the crappy pics.

This second layout Party Dress, was done using Got Sketch #90. Again I used Sass papers. The green alphas are felt. I used my butterfly punch and some mini brads. I used an Autumn Leaves stamp for the little journaling box thing. These pictures are of my daughter back in Dec 2003 at 16 months old. She had gotten this dress for her birthday and we were on our way to our annual family christmas party when i snapped this photo. I cant believe how fast they grow up, she just turned 7 a couple of weeks ago:(

Hey everyone,

Sorry I havent posted in a couple of weeks. I have been getting the schedule worked out with school starting back and all. Things have settled now and I have some awesome news to tell you!!!!

If any of you follow my blog regularly then you all know that I love Sketchy Thursdays done by Design by Diana. She is a wonderful artist and sketch artist. I absolutely LOVE her sketches. A card and Sketchy Thursday!

Hey everyone,

I have a couple of things to share with you tonight. The first is the layout I made for this weeks Sketchy Thursday done by Mrs. Diana. She always has awesome sketches and anyone that completes the sketch gets their name in a drawing for a little prize. This layout was done also for If The Shoe Fits...Scrap It prompt on their blog which was all about princesses. I thought, how perfect, it was kinda like a bonus because I had already planned to do these photos with this sketch. I found this Jolees 3-d embellishment in my stash and thought it was almost perfect, it looks a lot like the costume my daughter is wearing in the picture. Figured I would prob never use it if I didnt use it on this layout. I have had it ever since I started scrapping. I dont buy things like that anymore. They are not really my style anymore, but I think it worked on this layout. This Happy Birthday 2 U card was done for the current card challenge over at Simply Scrappin'. There was a sketch to use and you had to use brown and blue and at least one button. I used a stampendous stamp for the sentiment and used color pencils for the coloring. I thought that turned out pretty neat because you can still see the texture from the cardstock but colored. I used pp from K & Co. Wild Raspberry collection.

Been a While...some new stuff!

Hey guys,

Sorry I havent posted in like a week. I have some new stuff for you too see.
The first thing is a sympathy card I made for a Card Sketch Challenge at MAF that was hosted by Deanne. The paper is Basic Grey and the sentiment is a rub-on from MM. You should make sure you check out Deanne's blog as, all this month she if going green and showing all sorts of cool stuff. She is also a fellow DT at Creatively Green and Memories Always - Forever.

This next card I did for Simply Scrapping. It was the first card challenge for this month and it was a sketch and you could not use any stamps on your card. I fell in love with the sketch as soon as I saw it. I used paper from DCWV Pocket Full of Posies collection. The butterfly I traced from something else and then hand cut it and used some stickles to accent the body and make some lil antennas. The word "thanks!" is a rub-on from MM and to make the scallopped border I used a Fiskars border punch.

This is a layout I based of a Sketch I found from LG on Scrap That. I did it to go in my mother-in-laws wedding book. She just got remarried in Feb and I am doing a wedding album for her. I am going to make alot of journaling spots to include with the album when I give it to her, so that way she can add her own journaling if she wants too to all the different pages. The page I used the Making Memories Sabrina collection. Actually I bought just about the whole collection to use her book. The black scallop border at the top is a Bazzill edges piece, the flowers are from all different companies. The black flourish is actually chipboard I painted black and used some MM glitter glaze over top of it. The title is AC Thickers.

This last layout here is based from 52 Sketches #32 sketch and I used If The Shoe Fits... Scrap It's color challenge, which was brown, orange, and pink. When I came across this Sassafrass paper I had, I knew it was a perfect fit. The title is AC Thickers that are brown and made of felt. The little journaling spots that I put the date on are from Scenic Route.

Pink Ninja Prompt #10 and Sketch This #89

Hello everyone,

Its me again with another layout from today. For this one I used Sketch #89 from Sketch This and I used the Pink Ninja's Prompt #10 which was Star Wars vs. Star Trek.

As soon as I saw what the Pink Ninja prompt was I knew I had the perfect pictures from Halloween last year. My son was Chewbacca from Star Wars. How perfect right? So here it is!

The journaling reads "This year I had you and Kenzie dress up in the same theme, Star Wars. You were Chewbacca and she was Padame'. You were going to be Yoda until I found this costume online. You looked so cute! 2 yrs. old"

Sketchy Thursdays and Scrap the Girls!!

Hello to all my followers here in the blogosphere!!!

I have been scrapping today and got my mojo on!!

I did a two-fer today... you know, two challenges in one!

I used the sketch from Mrs. Diana's Sketchy Thursdays If you have not checked this site out yet and love sketches then you need too. She always comes up with the most awesome sketches and this weeks was my favorite so far. I soon as I saw the sketch I knew what pics I was going to use.

Also for this layout I used the prompt over at Scrap the Girls! The prompt for this month is to scrap the girls in your life....pretty easy huh? Make sure you check this site out for tons of inspiration for scrapping all the girls in your life!!

The journaling says "Mackenzie and I took these pictures at the mall, when I took her school shopping for second grade. This year she got her hair cut and we shopped for shoes and a new lunchbox. It was a girls day out and I had a blast with my girl. We have done this since she started Kindergarten and it's a tradition I hope we continue until she finishes school. July 2009"

Also just to note, I know you cant tell but the blue and red paper is actually flocked. Well the red in it is flocked. I have been waiting forever to use this paper and I finally found the perfect use for it!

Hey all,

I have 2 more layout to share that I did the other night. They are both 8x8 layouts for my sons baby album. I love 8x8 pages, so are so easy and fun. For both of these I used sketches from Pagemaps

This layout was done on kraft cardstock. Everything on this page is Making Memories Chloes Closet. Even the thread in the stitching is made by MM.

This page has alot of American Crafts stuff, the pp, the yellow paper and the word easter is thickers. The word first is a dymo embossed label. The felt easter eggs I got at hobby lobby and the blue gemstones.

Well ladies I have something quite unique to show you all today. Now I know you are looking down and thinking, its just a layout, whats so interesting about that?? Well the interesting part is that this layout was done by MY HUSBAND! No lie and I did not even help him. I was so impressed. No bad for the only layout he has ever done right? He asked me if I would blog about it and I told him absolutely and that the girls would get a kick out of it. He wasnt too about it until he saw my reaction, and after he realized I didnt make fun of it, he was quite proud. He even showed my neighbor and her husband.

You might wonder how in the world did I get my husband to scrapbook with me?? Well actually he was just bored, and was like this looks pretty easy, do you care if I use some of your stuff and make one? I thought he was kidding at first, but when I realized he was serious I showed where everything was.

So for the first and probably last time, we scrapbooked together, and as cheesy as this sounds, it was a fond memory for me and will likely never forget it. Hey you never know, he did seem to be enjoying himself. Thanks for humoring me and letting me share, I just thought you might find it interesting. I was/am quite proud of his page and somewhat jealous because my first page wasnt this good. haha!

The Shoes New Sketch

Happy Monday!!

There is a new sketch challenge over at The Shoe today. Here is my take on it. You should head on over, check it out, and play along with us!!

All my patterned paper is from American Crafts Modabella line. The "this is Love" tickets is actually a Studio G stamp, you know the ones for a dollar at Michaels. The font is Thickers and I used a Heidi Swapp journaling box. The heart is from chipchatter that I covered with AC pattern paper and then I used a Sharpie Pen for some outlining.

The Shoes Elements Challenge and Sketchy Thursday!

Today I have 2 layouts to share with you all. The first one is a layout I did for an elements challenge over at If The Shoe Fits... Scrap It! I also am the guest DT for the month of July so make sure you come see what it is all about!

The elements you had to use on this challenge was:
1. A shoe
2. At least one button
3. YOUR own handwriting and
4. At least 2 colors from the blogs design.

I had a lot of fun with this and the Pink Ninjas prompt from a few weeks ago inspired it. The journaling says "Soon I will become a Legal Asst. and will have a place to wear CUTE shoes, like this all the time."

Since right now I am a SAHM, I dont really buy shoes like this because for me its a waste of money considering I have no where to wear them.

The second layout I have to share with you is based from a sketch off Mrs. Diana's blog. She host a sketch challenge every Thursday called Sketchy Thursday and always has a cute prize for the winner. She is also on the MAF design team with me and is a fantastic scrapper too. Make sure you check out her blog and play along with us all on Sketchy Thursdays.

This is my layout from last weeks sketch. It is simple with a pop of red, but these are my absolutely fav pictures of my daughter and find myself scrapping them in all sorts of ways.

Friday Color Challenge @ The Shoe

Happy Saturday !!!! Yesterdays Friday color challenge was blue/green/khaki @ The Shoes Blog. Click HERE to see the challenge and some examples. Here was my take on it.

I used K & Co paper, the Urban line and tried to make it somewhat masculine. For the "Happy Birthday" i used a clear embossed dymo label and backed it with blue and green paper, and added some bling.

Interesting and Unique Challenge

Hey all,
I am hosting a unique and interesting challenge over at The Shoe and this is the example I made for it. Go check it out HERE

On this layout I used the clothing tags from my daughters clothes we bought for her when we took her school shopping for the very first time for kindergarten. I made a border across the bottom.

The pattern paper is K & CO berry sweet collection and I used some American Craft Thickers for the title.

Altered Canvas / Home Decor

I made this canvas for my daughters room that I just redid for her. It is a fun, cheap, and easy piece of art that would look great in any room, especially a childs room. I used a 16x20 canvas for this project.

Here is another great example from momma lizzie where she used numbers instead of letters.

On my last post I told you that I had some exciting news to tell you soon. Well I can officially tell you since it has been announced now.

I wanted to share my latest layout called HOME. I did this for a challenge over at If The Shoe Fits... Scrap It! The challenge was to create a card, layout, tag, whatever with fabric on it. So this is what I did. I used the fabric to create mini faux curtains. I wanted to create the feel like you were looking out the window.

I used an 8x10 picture, the fabric came from Hobby Lobby, the curtain ties are just black ribbon and the title "HOME" are fabric thickers. How funny... I literally just realized they are made of fabric too. haha. Anywho, I really like the way it turned out but it was a pain in the rear-end getting that fabric sit how I wanted it too. I used a ton of Zots to hold it all in the right places.

Well thanks for looking and I have a secret to share with you all very soon.... well at least I hope it will be soon. :)

Cards, Cards, and More Cards

Just wanted to share some cards I made this weekend for an online crop at the Shoe. These are I made 14 total in 2 days and was able to do 5 layouts. I shared some of those yesterday but I cannot show you the other 2 yet.

I made this one using the Mod Bella paper line from American crafts...and I LOVE these papers, absolutely gorgeous!!

Just a bright and fun summer card!

This card I used my martha stewart butterfly punch and used some paper scraps.

I had never made a 4th of July card, so this one was fun. I really like the design of this one even though it is very simple.

Some fun from the Shoe's online weekend crop!!

Hello everyone, I have been playing along with the gals at the Shoe the last couple of days. They are having an online crop till Sunday and have lots of awesome stuff they are giving away! Here are some of the things I have done so far.
The challenge for this first layout was to scrap whatever color you were wearing and scrap it monocromatically. I was wearing gray. At first I was like yuk!, but I kinda like it. I took some paper and folded it to make it look like folded ribbon, I used my butterfly punch, some jewels, gray fabric dolce Thickers letters and used some gray paint behind the title. I dont know if you can tell or not but the butterflys are metallic paper.

Ok, this layout was from a challenge from Mrs. Karmyn. You could only use the middle 1/3 of the paper and the other thirds could not be patterned paper, only solid color.

Ok , this layout was done from a sketch. It is my favorite layout of the day. I used craft cardstock and the title made of corkboard and I just took my white gel pen and traced the outer edge. I used some vintage looking lace and the flower is a prima fabric flower. I used a punch for the bottem of the purple paper and some pearls at the top of the page. I did my journaling with a gold pen.

The picture is of my daughter holding her little brother the day he got home from the hospital. She was so sweet. I wanted to really capture the importance of the moment and I really feel that I did that.

Finally....My Amazing New Scraproom!!

Well I know it has been a few weeks now but I finally got my new scraproom ALL done! I absolutely love it! Just about all my stuff is now out where I can see it. Maybe now I wont forget what all I have. I got to use my new room today while doing a weekend crop over at the Shoe!

This is my desk where the computer, printer and my sewing stuff is all on. Also at the very top I have where I keep my scraps.

I got a dry erase board at Walmart for 15 bucks and got the rail with the metal basket and buckets at IKEA! Super cheap! The rail was $2.99, the metal basket was $1.99, and the plastic buckets were only $.99.

This is a close up of the right side of the pegboard. The trim around the pegboard I painted Orange, I found all sorts of cool racks and holders for the pegboard.

Here is the left side, where I have mostly tools and baskets. The top left basket is my punches, the top right has my dymo label embosser and staplers, the bottom left has all my adhesives, and the bottom right has just misc. stuff. The top shelf I painted Lime Green, and keep some trim, my little hardware pieces, some photo boxes and some plastic bins I got at Walmart for $1 and I tied some ribbon around them to make them look a little more decorative.

Here is a view of the whole thing. My table is a 6 foot heavy duty plastic folding table I got at Walmart for $50, and I keep my lamp, paper trimmer, cricut, and some trays on it. Oops...dont peek thats a project I am working on for my daughters room.

Here you can see a good pic of the whole corner of the room. The plastic box under the table is where I keep all my stuff for when I alter things.

This is my Making Memories embellishment center. I had this before but I moved it. The rails underneath it are new and I got them at IKEA. They are the same as the ones under the dry erase board. Super Cheap and affordable for ANY budget. In the plastic cups I have markers and gel pens, in the 2 baskets in the middle I have chipboard stuff in one and ribbon in the other one. In the last baskets to the right I have all my stamp pads and cat eyes.

This is the back corner of the room. Brown on the backside and the bookshelf is back there, and that is where I keep all my albums and papers, magazines and some photoboxes.

This is a good pic of the whole left corner of the room. The art on the wall is a poster, and the green rug is shag!

Thanks for letting me share my scraproom with you. My husband really did an awesome job on it so a shout out to him for all his love and support for my addiction and love for scrapbooking. the beach....and IKEA

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to stop in and say hi! I am still on vacation and wont be able to get home for at least another 10 days. :( Don't get me wrong I do love vacation, which I have been on since last Wednesday but I am itching to get home so I can do some scrapping. Do I sound crazy or what?? What normal person does that?...I mean who wants to go home from vacation to go scrapbook. Also too, I am in Florida and it is just so hot, unless your in the water, it is so miserable to be outside.

On another note, I went to Ikea today for the first time and OMG!! I think I have fallen in LOVE!! Now I want to redecorate my ENTIRE house! LOL! I did pick up some organizational items for my scraproom, and they were super cheap. They are these stainless steel rails and they had different size/style of baskets and buckets you hang on the rails. As soon as I get home the very first thing I am going to do it finish my scraproom and then start scrapping. Also I will be child-less for two and a half weeks, so I will be able to get a ton done.

Time to go and watch the sunset on the beach! I will blog again soon!

Some EXCITING News!!!!!!!!

I am so excited right now I just had to tell someone!! A few hours ago I just found out that I was chosen to be the guest designer for the month of July for If The Shoe Fits...Scrap It. The have a blog and have a social network on Ning.com.

It is the very first time I have EVER been chosen to be on a design team or even as a guest designer. It is going to awesome and soo much fun and I can not wait. You should go check it out, You can find a link to their blog on my blogs I follow section and on their blog there is a link to their social network where you can join and jump right in the fun.

I am going to share the layout I sent in with my application. Basically you had to do a layout based on a sketch they gave you. This what I came up with and I am assuming they liked it since they chose me.

Top 5 and BLOG CANDY!!!!

Hi All,

Today I just wanted to share with you my favorite scrapbooking items right now.

1. American Crafts Thickers - I love these things, I have soooo many and buy as many different ones as I can find. My local craft store Hobby Lobby lets me have them half off the weeks that they have stickers 50% off.

2. My Martha Stewart butterfly punch - I love butterflies on my pages and I recently bought this punch and LOVE it!

3. My Fiskars scalloped edge punch - I used to cut scallopped edges by hand and this punch makes it sooooo much easier. Lately almost all my pages have a scallopped edge somewhere on the page!

4. Bling - I love bling, mostly the gemstones, I have like every color ever made and LOVE the Prima ones that are flourishes.

5. My signo ball white gel pen - This is the best white gel pen ever made. I use mine all the time and it works great...never skips on ya. I have already used one up and have bought 2 more to keep in my stash.

I am giving away some blog candy on June 7th. I already have 2 people that want in that commented on my last blog, but I will extend it to this blog as well. My space!!

Today I decided to show you my scrap space. I don't know about you, but I love looking at others scrap areas. That is normally how I get my ideas for how I want to store and organize my stuff.
This is a close up of the bookshelf. I got this from Walmart.com. I love it because it has deep shelves. Those are hard to find these days.

This is my Making Memories Embellishment Center. I got it at Michael's and used a 50% coupon so it only cost me $40! I love it and don't know how I ever scrapped without it.

This is the right side of the room. I have my storage totes that I keep my home decor projects in and then I have my bookshelf I use for lots of storage too, like my paper and pictures.

This is the desk area, my work station. I have my computer, printer and cricut machine. As well as some storage. Right above that I have my Making Memories Embellishment Center right at my disposal.

This is a view of the whole room. I guess you would have to call it my craft area because I have a six foot table I keep my sewing machine, fabric, and notions on.

So I just got done reorganizing all this and then my husband tells me I can do all the things to it like I have been wanting to do. So this is what it looks now, but when I get it redone I will post more pictures. We are going to be repainting it, moving some of the furniture around installing some shelves and he is going to help me do the whole peg board thing. I am soooooo excited because now I will be able to have most of my stuff out where I can see it. I am so terrible about buying stuff then putting it away and forgetting about it.

Oh yea, one last thing, I am going to give away some blog candy! Simple!

Today was a pretty busy day for me and the hubby, we cleaned/organized our garage. Man oh man, it was something else. Tonight I will just leave you with a VERY simple layout I did for Braden's baby book. I like simple but this is really simple even for me.

The patterned paper is Paper Studios brand (Hobby Lobby), then the solid navy blue paper is textured card stock but I don't remember what brand. The alphas are American Craft Thickers that are vinyl and I used a white gel pen, which I have to say is in my top five scrapbooking must have items of all time (well at least at the current moment) hehe. It is an 8x8 layout!

Just The Beginning!

Welcome to my blog Pink Nickels! You all will have to bear with me as I am new to this whole blogging thing. As I become more familiar with it, I will customize my profile and such, but that will come later.

My goal is to eventually be able to host challenges and such and give blog candy and all sorts of fun things. So until then keep checking back to see what I have been up too.
